Our story
Our daughter is 4 and she has been
diagnosed Werlhof’s disease.
As soon as the disease was diagnosed, she
was hospitalised and administered with
I.V.‘immunoglobulins’ , after this treatment and for the
climbing of platelets count she was discharged.
Less then three weeks later, again with
the problem, the platelets count was under 20,000.
My baby was hospitalised again, she had
I.V. cortisone, and after four days the count was
acceptable and she was discharged.
After searching on internet we knew about
treatments with melatonin and together vitamin, and we
decided to try with it.
We immediately started the treatment
after contacting dr. Todisco and 4 days passed for the
platelets count to slowly rise, and since that moment we
have been decreasing cortisone until completely stop to
use it.
We are using only melatonin together with
vitamin (for about 12 weeks she haven’t been taking
cortisone) and the platelets count is settled at about
20,000.
An important element is that my baby has
not bleeding (gum bleeding or nose bleeding...) only two
times we noticed small petechiae (few units), vanished
after few days.

“real medical data”.
We are going to update as soon as we get
news.
Update – 18th November 2006
It is two months we haven’t been doing
hemochrome, considering the long lasting physical
conditions and the absence of symptoms linked to
Werlhof’s disease.
We are going on with melatonin and
vitamin treatment, and the awful side effects of the
cortisone cure (bloated face, weariness, mood swings,
headache, pains in the joints, etc...) seem to be
vanishing.
Our daughter is attending kindergarten
and we are going to do hemochrome in few weeks, or if
needed.
Update – 2nd January 2007
Last month because of insect stings the
baby had a strong anaphylactic reaction that got us to
do hemochrome. A count near ZERO was expected, but we
realized that platelets count was 14,000. At the end of
the allergic reaction, thanks to dr. Todisco’s
suggestions, the situation was settled again.
We are going on with melatonin and
vitamin therapy.
Update – 30th March 2007
We have not done hemochrome, situation
seems to be lasting, my baby goes to school, the therapy
is still melatonin and vitamin.
Update – 11th June 2007
After the top of the allergy to pellitory
we did hemochrome (200 days from the last check), the
count is 20,000, without particular symptomatology, we
are going on with melatonin and vitamin therapy.
Update – 23rd June 2007
We have decided to do hemochrome after
the improvement of allergy situation, platelets count is
69,200. My baby pulls her first baby tooth out (alone!),
with a NORMAL bleeding, without particular symptomatology, and we are going on with melatonin and
vitamin therapy.
Update – 20th march 2008
platelets
count is 60,000
there are no particular symptomatology

melatotin about 20%

vitamin therapy.
